Dr. Luis Izcobich will be in the Lacanian Forum of Washington DC this month. He has been here last August, introducing the topic of the Fifth English Speaking Seminar: the proper place of affect in psychoanalysis: from Freud to Lacan. This visit will be a continuation of that conversation started last summer.
Dr Luis Izcovich is a psychoanalyst and psychiatrist, Analyst Member of the School of Psychoanalysis of the Lacanian Field, Forum of France, Senior Lecturer with the Collège Clinique de Paris and the author of numerous publications on psychoanalytic theory and practice.
He has been working closely with the Lacanian Forum of Washington DC for the last few months. So we want to take this opportunity to invite you to continue the conversation on affect, in preparation for the seminar in April.

We are looking forward to welcoming Mme Colette Soler to Washington on January 15, 2011. A very full day is anticipated! In the morning, Mme. Soler will give a seminar, open to the public, at the Washington School of Psychiatry. Her topic will be "Transference: A New Love?" She will also supervise a case presented by one of our members, Macario Giraldo. In the afternoon, Mme. Soler will meet with members of our forum, who will present thoughts and questions on the topic of affects. This is part of our ongoing preparation for the Fifth English Speaking Seminar, held this year for the first time on this side of the Atlantic. The theme is: "The proper place of affects in psychoanalysis: from Freud to Lacan" (Washington D.C. April 8-10, 2011).

On August 28, 2010, Sol Aparacio visited for an entire day with the Cartel on Affects of the Lacanian Forum of Washington D.C. Sol's visit was part of our ongoing preparations for the English Speaking Seminar, on "The Proper Place of Affects in Psychoanalysis: from Freud to Lacan," scheduled for April 8, 9, 10, 2011 in Washington. We greatly appreciated Sol's time and especially the opportunity to discuss with her the role of affects in the psychoanalytic cure.

On August 2nd, 2010, Dr. Luis Izcovich will visit the Washington Forum to present his Seminar entitled "Affects in the Transference." His seminar is part of our ongoing preparations for hosting the English Speaking Seminar (April 8-10, 2011) on the theme of "Affects in Lacan and Freud." In addition, Dr. Izcovich will join us for a cartel meeting and supervise a case presented by one of our members.
